Private Outpatient Department (POPD)

The Private Outpatient’s department (POPD) of the hospital together with our sub- speciality services form a unique center for comprehensive ophthalmology in Bangladesh. An all-in-one facility which excels in the provision of advanced eye care.

Our POPD doctors and consultants provide a general check up with refraction (for spectacles), measurement of internal eye pressure (IOP) and duct test for watering eyes. Surgical advise is given where applicable and sub speciality services are available when needed.

It has the following features:

1. Online and telephone appointment booking
2. Comprehensive eye care services by some of the most renowned ophthalmologists of the country
3. Subspecialty services are provided where required
4. The most up to date equipment in ophthalmic services
5. A newly renovated waiting room with cable television, air-conditioning and a café. We also have a secure car park.
6. We endeavour to see patients within 30 minutes if they have an appointment and within two hours if they are walk-in patients. We have recently extended the number of doctors and optometrist in POPD to expedite our services. Patients are accompanied by staff to whichever department they may need to go.

POPD and GOPD form an excellent model in providing services for all sections of society. Our overarching mission is to provide quality eye care to all those who need it through a system of cross subsidisation.

The POPD is manned by 44 Consultants 38 optometrist.

The hospital is open from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm from Saturday to Wednesday, and 7.30 till 1.30 on Thursdays. The hospital is closed on Fridays and Government holidays except for emergencies.

The registration fee for POPD is TK 1000 and is valid for 15 days.
